I want to be your next State Representative and here's why:

Since 1998, I have served as Nantucket’s Legislative Liaison working with our current State Representative, Eric Turkington. Our District, consisting of Falmouth, Martha’s Vineyard, the Elizabeth Islands, and Nantucket, is a corner of the Commonwealth endowed with uncommon beauty. I am passionate about preserving what we have and advocating for our common interests. My many years of experience in local and regional government should assure you that I can represent our district effectively in Boston. 

The people of Falmouth, the Vineyard, and Nantucket share common issues and concerns.  Your State Representative must be skilled at building consensus across our district’s diverse interests. I am a firm believer in listening to the people’s needs and assuring that every voice is heard and respected. 

In order to represent our many towns at the State House successfully, your Representative also must be effective politically.  As Nantucket Legislative Liaison for the past 10 years, I’ve built the personal relationships that an effective Representative must have with colleagues at the State House in Boston.  I know how to voice the concerns and needs of my constituents constructively. I would appreciate your vote on November 4th!

As your next State Representative,  I promise to focus my efforts on the following:

• Stabilizing the cost of both homeowners and health insurance
• Improving and funding waste water treatment,  landfill management and waste recycling
• Securing more State funding for education
• Gaining passage of our Home Rule petitions for local control
• Protecting our harbors and watersheds
• Affordable housing that works for your community
• Addressing needed improvements to the 40B legislation
